How students benefit....

Learning real-world applications of Common Core State Standards (CCSS) math outside the traditional classroom setting offers numerous benefits to math students. By connecting abstract mathematical concepts to tangible, everyday situations, students gain a deeper understanding of the subject's relevance and practical value. This approach enhances engagement and motivation, as students see how math is used in various fields and contexts, from budgeting and cooking to engineering and technology. Furthermore, applying math skills to real-world problems fosters critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, preparing students to tackle complex challenges they may encounter in their future academic and professional lives. Ultimately, this type of learning helps to demystify mathematics and empowers students to become confident and capable users of mathematical tools.

Dr. Benson has developed this program and has achieved the following:

From 2013-2017, his Geometry students had a 100% pass rate on the state End of Course exam. (Florida)

From 2013 - 2018, his Algebra students achieved a 97.8% pass rate on the End of Course exam. (Florida)

During the time period from 2021 - current, his classes have consistently score well above the national average on MAP testing, most recently achieving improvement almost 3 times the national average (Nevada).
